Position Overview

This is a part-time position at a growing and successful worker-owned cooperative. At this time, this is a 20-30 hr/week position, but may have the opportunity to grow into a full-time position. You will be in charge of answering calls and emails and routing them to the appropriate department, checking the mail and getting important information to the correct person, and greeting incoming clients and visitors. Having specific knowledge of design and construction is a bonus, but not necessary when applying. Our ideal candidate will have strong skills in communication, organization, basic math, and multitasking.

Job Duties

  • Answer and direct phone calls and emails in a professional and friendly manner
  • Make outbound calls to people inquiring about our services
  • Welcome visitors in a warm and friendly manner, and answer any questions visitors have
  • Maintain reception area and all common areas in a clean and tidy manner at all times
  • Operate standard office equipment on a regular basis, including a printer, a copy machine, and a computer
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of visitor requests and of calls received
  • Receive deliveries; sort and distribute incoming mail
  • Handle outgoing mail, including bringing packages to shipping location
  • Maintain display and records of display samples and samples sent to clients
  • Take inventory of office supplies and restock as needed
  • Maintain the general office filing system
  • Generate social media posts (Instagram, Facebook)
  • Aid in generation of quarterly newsletter including templating and editing
  • Additional duties may evolve as the position requires
  • Occasional remote work possible but this is primarily an in-office position



  • Proficient in word processing and email
  • Strong phone skills
  • Ability to clearly and professionally communicate with a variety of people
  • Comfortable multitasking and prioritizing tasks without guidance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Punctual with strong attendance history
  • Familiarity with Facebook and Instagram


  • Experience working in reception and/or in an office environment
  • Experience working with a construction and/or design company


  • Part-Time, starting at $18 – $22/hr, Pay is subject to regular review and raises.
